Some Royal Caribbean ships — such as the line's Oasis-class vessels and recently launched Icon of the Seas — are built with far more family-focused activities than others. Some, such as the two-year-old Wonder of the Seas, have added features that appeal to luxury-loving travelers. Other Royal Caribbean ships operate on particularly low-cost itineraries that are best for budget travelers. Royal Caribbean® elevates holidays to holi-yays any time of year. From spring getaways to family summer vacations and fall escapes to winter wanders. Escape to the most incredible destinations in the world on the best ships in the biz with big seasonal savings on 2024, 2025 and 2026 cruises.
Voyager Class ships
In fact, I’d put the Vision Class as my second favorite of Royal Caribbean’s ship classes. I would sail on the Radiance Class time and time again just for the amazing itinerary options. Radiance Class ships, like Quantum Class ships, sail all over the world. Some of Royal Caribbean's most unique ports, such as Nuuk, Greenland and Lifou, Loyalty Islands, are visited by Radiance Class cruise ships. Oasis Class cruise ships are undoubtedly an impressive feat of engineering and design. Walking onboard an Oasis Class ship for the first time is mind-blowing.
SAND-WRITE YOUR ADVENTURE
Crush cravings for Mexican street food poolside at El Loco Fresh®. Odyssey of the Seas℠ is primed to please every palate and satisfy any appetite. At around 156,000 tons, the Freedom Class ships are about 38% smaller than the Icon Class ships and 31% smaller than the Oasis Class ships, a significant step down in size. Each Radiance Class ship holds more than 2,100 passengers at double occupancy (plus a few hundred more with every berth filled). That's less than half the number of passengers on the biggest Royal Caribbean ships. You'll also find three pools on each ship, whirlpools, a rock climbing wall, a miniature golf course, a sports court and an adults-only solarium.

They're called the North Star rides, and they may be the oddest attractions ever added to the top of a cruise ship. These are vessels that can carry as many as 7,600 passengers when every berth is filled. That means you could be sharing your vacation with nearly 10,000 people. Inside the vessels, you'll find more lounges, bars, restaurants and shops than you can imagine — plus huge casinos, spas and showrooms with Broadway-style shows. They even have indoor ice skating rinks, just in case you want to get your Michelle Kwan on.

Freedom Class ships represent an excellent value for families that want to cruise on a large ship, have lots of activities, but not break their budget. From a pure value standpoint, the Freedom Class ships are a great choice for a fabulous cruise experience. There’s no “perfect” cruise ship out there, and what works best for one passenger may not work as well for another.

Discover what’s included from dining venues with free food to free activities and entertainment, you’ll be amazed with a vacation on Ovation of the Seas. When you sail onboard the much-loved Liberty of the Seas®, bold thrills, crave-worthy dining and maxed-out adventure are all included in your cruise fare. In addition to main restaurants and casual buffets, each ship has at least one (and often several) additional specialty restaurants. The line's signature Chops Grille steakhouse and Italian eatery Giovanni's Table are two of them. Rhapsody of the Seas has the biggest selection of dining; Enchantment of the Seas has the smallest.

Much of my time onboard was spent sipping a cocktail or coffee in the Centrum while listening to live music and enjoying views of Greece in the distance. That being said, I do think the size and range of activities on Freedom Class ships are perfect for short Bahamas itineraries. Freedom Class ships offer something for everyone onboard without being too big, and that’s one of the things I like most about them. They also tend to offer a great value while still offering many of Royal Caribbean’s newest amenities.
Brace yourself for Category 6, the largest waterpark at sea with six record-breaking slides. And the Pressure Drop, the first open freefall waterslide on a cruise. Fortunately, Icon of the Seas' nighttime entertainment is also a great equalizer.

Icon of the Seas has a lot of affordable vacation options at no additional cost including free restaurants, fun activities, and many places to relax onboard. Sail from Fort Lauderdale to the western Caribbean where Beachside meets mountainside. Discover the shores of Labadee, or enjoy the stunning beaches in Falmouth. Head south to admire divi divi trees on Aruba's white-sand beaches and dive Curaçao's colorful coral reefs. In between iconic isles, fill a day with thrills and chill at our private destination, Perfect Day at CocoCay. There are also fewer cabins on the Voyager Class ships, resulting in fewer passengers on board a typical sailing.

The Royal Caribbean Grandeur of the Seas total number of staterooms is 996. The Royal Caribbean Vision of the Seas has a construction date of 1998 and a total size of 78,340 gross tons. The ship measures 915 feet (279 meters) in length and falls in line as number 27 among Royal Caribbean's 36 existing and former cruise ships. That's more than any other major cruise line, and it means that you have a lot of choices when it comes to picking the perfect Royal Caribbean ship for you. Indeed, when you hear people talking about the wow factor of Royal Caribbean's "floating megaresorts," it's likely they're referring to the six ships in these two sets of vessels. This includes the just-unveiled Icon of the Seas — the world's biggest cruise ship. If you’re craving crystal-clear waters, vibrant coral reefs and island vibes turned way, way up, these getaways check all the boxes. Fill your days on a short escape with Oasis Class thrills — onboard Allure of the Seas®. All while sailing to the picture-perfect shores of The Bahamas and our private destination Perfect Day at CocoCay.
I recently cruised to Alaska on Radiance of the Seas, completing my goal of sailing on every class of Royal Caribbean ships. There's also quite a bar scene on Quantum-class ships, with a lot of counter-style seating in bars that are a great place to find other solo travelers. We recommend one of the two large bars at the Music Hall, where you can make new friends while sipping musically inspired cocktails and listening to live bands. If the Music Hall is too noisy for chatting up other solos, head to the sometimes quieter Schooner Bar.
